RESPITE COORDINATOR
Full Time, Permanent 

THE ROLE:
We are currently seeking Respite Coordinators to support the community-based Urgent Response Service Program. This team will support children/youth with Autism and their families with an identified urgent need to prevent further escalation of risk or harm to a child or youth, other people or property based on the identification of key high-risk factors.
Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor, URS Respite Coordinators will work as part of a team supporting children/youth with Autism and their families with an identified urgent need to prevent further escalation of risk or harm to a child or youth, other people or property based on the identification of key high-risk factors.
Respite Coordinators will support families by creating a comprehensive respite plan specific to the family’s needs, provide respite information and connect them to respite providers within their community, and assist them in applying for Ministry funding related to respite.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
Family Assignments
•Collaborate with families to develop a comprehensive respite plan
•Short term case management for families
•Identifying funding barriers, assist with applications for funding, assess need for reassessment of funding sources as appropriate  
Agency Contact
•Attends, contributes, advocates and informs at OAP URS meetings, and others as appropriate (Special Needs Advisory Committee, Toronto Respite Network and working groups, respiteservices.com’s agency orientation)

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
•College diploma in a relevant area (i.e., ASD, Developmental Disabilities, Behavioural/Social Sciences)
•4 years’ work experience in a similar role
•Previous experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or Autism
•Demonstrated understanding of early childhood education, autism and applied behaviour analysis
•Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
•Good data collection, filing and report writing skills
•Demonstrate strength as a team player
•Effective problem solving and judgement skills
•Superior organizational and time management skills
•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites 
•Vulnerable Sector Screening
•Must be vaccinated against COVID-19

WORKING CONDITIONS:
•If working remotely, has a suitably furnished office that is secure and safe
•Must have means for reliable transportation
