Foundation - Geneva Centre for Autism

Foundation

Who are we

Through the generosity of our donors and supporters, crucial funds are raised annually to support much needed programs that don’t get any government funding. Geneva Centre for Autism is a pioneer in developing leading edge resources, programs and services that serve as models for other organizations throughout the world. Our programs provide crucial lifelines for children, youth and adults with autism and their families in learning the skills that will enable them to live productively with ASD in Toronto and across the province.

Each year the Foundation donates hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Centre to support over 5,000 children, youth and families by subsidizing social skills building programs and funding the purchase and renovation of a leading edge resource facility for young people with autism.

Thank you for your interest and support for children and youth with autism.

Impact

  • This summer The Les and Kae Foundation helped send 20 adults with ASD to Summer Camp
  • Project ImPACT supported 48 families un the autism community through service disruptions, social distancing and reintegration.
  • With the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation GCA was able to build 16,084 sq. feet of additional programming space by renovating five classrooms to meet the changing needs of our clients and adapt to new ways of working.

Together with our partners at ACCES Employment, we developed remote learning opportunities for our Youth Job Connect (YJC) program. The program ran three cohorts serving participants aged 15- 29, a survey with them revealed:

  • 45% completed the program or job placements during COVID 19.
  • 67% felt better prepared at finding a job.
  • 83% recommended YJC at GCA.
  • 83% felt supported by facilitators and reported learning new skills during classroom training.
  • 100% found the phone/virtual sessions with facilitators to be helpful.
