Principles of ABA for Teaching and Intervention – In-Class

This advanced level two-day certificate course provides a strong foundation for the delivery of high quality ABA-based services. Upon completion of this course participants will have a thorough understanding of the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and will be able to use these principles effectively during the delivery of ABA services. The course content will focus on skill building and supporting positive behaviour.

Course Objectives
At the conclusion of this workshop participants will be able to:
•  Operationally define target behaviours and skills to teach
•  Describe and use a variety of data collection techniques and identify the most appropriate for each situation
•  Describe and use errorless learning teaching techniques including prompting, shaping, chaining and reinforcement
•  Describe and use prompting procedures and reinforcers when teaching new skills and replacing maladaptive behaviours
•  Describe and use techniques to maintain learned skills and support generalization

This session also includes group activities to give participants the opportunity to apply their learning and practise using the ABA techniques discussed in the course.

Target Audience:
This course is designed for people who are or will be supporting an individual with ASD. As space is limited, please register soon to ensure availability. Participants must attend BOTH dates in the same session to complete the course and receive a certificate.
