Children’s Friendship Training is an evidence-based social skills program for participants who are interested in learning ways to supporting making and maintaining friendships.
During each virtual group session, participants review key social skills and are given the opportunity to practice these skills in session during role-plays and targeted activities. Conversation skills, sportsmanship and initiating friendship skills are emphasized.Participants will be encouraged to practice and participate in peer phone calls and virtual play dates outside of the session. These will be set up by the facilitators, however will be monitored by the caregivers.
Caregivers are taught how to assist their children in making and keeping friends by providing feedback through coaching.
