Respite is a recreational program that supports children and youth on the Autism Spectrum and provides caregivers with a planned break. Participants will have exposure to social, recreational and leisure opportunities in a group environment. Dedicated staff provide high needs clients and their families with safe and reliable in-centre respite care while working towards individualized and group goals. Please note that our respite programs are for participants who require 1:1 support.
Daily activities may include: Arts and crafts, sensory activities, local community walks, baking, group games, visits to attractions or events, TTC rides, etc.
While respite is not eligible for OAP coverage, it can be covered using SSAH, out of pocket, or other sources. Geneva Centre offers both partially subsidized evening and weekend respite as well as fee-based weekend respite:

Weekend Respite
Dates: 10 dates either on Saturday or Sunday from September through June
Hours: 9:30-3:30pm
Price: $500
Note: This program is currently full. The new session for funded weekend respite will begin September 2024.
Evening Respite
Dates: Offered weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays for a total of 10 dates starting March 26, 2024
Hours: 3:00-7:30pm
Price: $500
Note: Registration for Spring Evening respite opens February 9th 2024

Registration occurs via Amilia
In response to client and caregiver feedback, we have a new registration system – Amilia!
