Project ImPACT (Improving Parents as Communication Teachers) is an evidence-based parent-mediated intervention program based on best practices in early intervention.
Project ImPACT is a 6-week program consisting of:
- 1 group session per week (2 hour)
Group sessions will be held on Mondays from 1:00-3:00.
- 1 individualized parent coaching session per week (45 minutes)
Individual coaching sessions will be booked with your coach during 1st group.
The goal of project ImPACT is for parents to feel more confident in supporting their child’s development, and for children to get more opportunities to practice social communication goals in the home.
Topics include: encouraging communication, creating routines, make time for play, teaching skills & understanding challenging behaviour
The parent manual will be mailed to you.
Geneva Centre for Autism thanks Els for Autism and the Alice & Murray Maitland Foundation for this program grant.
(actual Project ImPACT program cost: $750 per caregiver)
