Are you looking to increase your child’s/ teen’s skill and motivation to perform tasks independently? Do
you want to learn a variety of teaching methods that are proven to be effective for individuals on the
autism spectrum? This workshop will address how to teach new socially significant skills to children/ teens,
including self‐care, housework, toleration, academic task, and other common daily living skills. As a part
of this workshop, we will discuss:

  • Assessing your child’s/ teen’s current skill‐level
  • Breaking tasks down into manageable steps for teaching
  • How to best remove yourself from the teaching process
  • Using schedules, self‐monitoring and behaviour contracts
  • Ways to motivate your child/teen
