Susan Vernon is currently an ABA Facilitator with Complex Needs Services within the York Region District School Board. She holds a Masters in Education and has more recently completed graduate studies in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Pennsylvania State University. She has worked in the field of autism and applied behaviour analysis for the past 10 years in a variety of settings including working one-on-one with children on the spectrum, providing in-home consultation and coaching to families, and supporting students with ASD in schools.  Majority of this time has been spent educating school personnel on the latest behavioural learning techniques to assist them in effectively teaching students with ASD and applying key principles of applied behaviour analysis as it relates to PPM 140.

Currently, Susan provides direct support and consultation regarding ABA practices to school teams offering support with the development of  data collection methods, individualized programming, reinforcement systems, self-monitoring systems, self-regulation programs and functional behaviour assessment. Over the years, Susan has presented on a number of topics including ASD, teaching using ABA, reducing challenging behaviour, social skills, anxiety, PPM-140, and functional academics. Susan is dedicated to continued support of excellence in the field to promote learning, functional independence, and the overall well-being of all students.
