This workshop is designed to provide a rationale for using cognitive-based strategies for more-able individuals with ASD to teach skills including social understanding and self-management. Discussion and practical exercises will focus on Social Stories, social scripts, cognitive picture rehearsal and Powercards.
Case examples will be provided to enable participants to determine which strategies best fit different situations and individuals. Small group work will provide participants with the opportunity to problem solve and develop materials for future use.
