Autism Intervener Certificate Training Program Level 2: Social Skills
This is a six part certificate course (14.5 instructional hours)
Participants will gain a thorough understanding of a variety of social skills training strategies. Weekly topics will include: assessment tools; advanced stories that teach social understanding, scripting for conversation skills; strategies to facilitate peer interaction and social skills groups. Presentation style will include lecture, discussion and small group work. There will be a practical final assignment that will consolidate the course content into the development of an ISP (Individual Social Plan).
Contingent on regular attendance, participation in practical group exercises and achieving a satisfactory grade for the assignment, participants will receive an Autism Intervener Certificate course Level 2 certificate from Geneva Centre for Autism.
To successfully complete this course, participants must have received an Autism Intervener Certificate Level 1 from Geneva Centre for Autism, currently work or live with an individual with ASD, attend all sessions and satisfactorily complete all assignments. Contingent upon this criteria, participants will receive a certificate stating that they have completed the Autism Intervener Certificate Training Program – Level 2: Social Skills. This course is limited to 20 participants.
