This workshop will address the needs of those we refer to as the “nuance challenged” social learners who are expected to be included in the adult work word with minor if any accommodations. We will explore key Social Thinking concepts and how we address related anxieties when teaching middle and high school students to better prepare for living as a responsible adult. We will also explore the social emotional expectations of the adult work environment. The strategies provided are those explored at our clinic in San Jose, California that serves very high functioning individuals with social learning challenges across the lifespan.
