Welcome to Respite

Welcome to Respite Bridges, through a variety of out-of-home programs, provides temporary relief to parents and guardians from the physical and emotional demands involved in caring for a family member with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Respite gives families time to rest, relax and rejuvenate. Along with providing families with relief, respite participants have the opportunity to develop social interaction and leisure skills within a group.

Geneva Centre for Autism is also a member of the Respite Network, a community-wide respite network, facilitated by respiteservices.com

Weekend Respite Program for Adults

Weekend Respite for AdultsProgram Description
This program serves families who are caring for an Adult with ASD, 18 years of age and above, who live in Metro Toronto. This very small program is designed to assist individuals who experience challenges participating in other recreational programs. Participants are given the opportunity to develop their social interaction skills and community safety skills in a recreational setting.

Where is the program located?
The program operates at Geneva Centre for Autism located at 112 Merton Street

When does the program start and end?
The program operates from September to June:
Saturday and Sunday: 2 sessions, from 9:30am-3:30pm.

Candidates for the program must:
• Be 18 yrs +                                                  
• Live in Toronto                                            
• Have a diagnosis of ASD                          
• Live at home with their family

Fee:
$540

Clients can access two weekend sessions every month, from september to June.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide transportation to our programs. If you are experiencing difficulty transporting your child to the program, please contact the Respite Supervisor in order to assist you in finding a solution.


Contact the Respite Supervisor in order to discuss our programs with you in detail and answer any questions you may have. We will then assist you in creating your own respite plan that best suits the needs of your family.


Our Weekend and Summer Respite Programs are offered to children ages 7 and up. Our Evening Respite Program is for children age 2 and up.
