School Stream

TPAS has developed an important new program option with a focus on building skills for the school setting in an intensive model while giving children experience in typical school classrooms at the same time. This new "school stream" service option will provide children with a half day (3.5 hours) of ABA programming in one of our learning centres, while maintaining their important link to the school system by attending school on a half time basis.

This model is intended to focus on small group instruction, with 4 primary areas of treatment functional communication, self help skills, independent leisure/play/vocational skills, and reduction of challenging behaviours where they present themselves. This new program curriculum will begin to build the skills needed for success in school. There will continue to be a 1: 1 child-to-therapist ratio, enriched transition coordination support, speech-language pathology and occupational therapy, and our standard clinical supervision team of a senior therapist and a psychologist/clinical supervisor.
