The Summer Camp

Social Skills Summer Day Camp

The goal of Social Skills Summer Day Camp at Geneva Centre for Autism is to provide each camper, ages 4 - 13, with an opportunity to learn and practice social skills in a fun, supportive and encouraging summer day camp atmosphere. Campers are motivated to interact and learn through typical camp activities, such as playing games, learning new interactive songs, and making crafts. Social skills, including play, initiation, social communication and making friends are taught and rehearsed in each activity.

Geneva Centre’s Social Skills summer camp creates a bridge for transition of social skills taught in a structured environment to the practice of those skills in a setting that is more typical of daily life. Social Skills camp staff and volunteers are trained to facilitate campers to generalize targeted social skills in recreation, leisure and group activities in a 1:3 ratio.

Although families may apply for as many weeks of camp as they would like, we cannot guarantee that all requested weeks will be available. Groups will be made based on ages, so if the week you have requested would not be suitable to your child, we may ask you to amend your choice. Priority will be given to families first, second and third choice.

Cost: $600 per week
