Darlene Bailey

Darlene Bailey:  BA/ BED with major in Special Education from Acadia University, NS.  She has been teaching for 24 years, 19 of those years have been in Special Education. Darlene started her career in Northern BC and taught 5 years in a Developmental Learning classroom.  She moved to Manitoba for 5 years where she taught various grades 3-10.  Darlene has been teaching in the Developmental Learning Program at Walkerton District Secondary School in Walkerton Ontario for the past 14 years. Darlene attended a Structured Learning training 2 day workshop in August 2006 in Whitby, Ontario.   She has been working on implementing the Structured Learning Model in her classroom for the past 6 years.  Her team of 7 EAS and another DL teacher have worked hard developing this model in their classroom and now is the Structured Learning demonstration classroom for the Bluewater District School Board.  The program serves over 45 students at various levels.  The team is also working with other classroom teachers to implement some of the components in their classes.
