Job description:
(Starting Salary: $14.50/hour + 4%vacation pay)
Please note –Shifts are afternoons and/or weekends.
Reporting to the Director, Youth and Adult Services, the Respite Workers provide direct care and support to participants (including personal care) in our recreation based program. Respite Workers ensure the health and safety of individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder during their participation in activities.
Qualifications required:
As the ideal candidate for this role, you are energetic and adaptable. You are creative and resourceful and can demonstrate the ability to be a good team player.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
•A University/college education in a relevant discipline related to human services (e.g. social work, psychology, education, behavioural sciences) completed or working towards completion
•Previous experience providing direct support to children, youth or adults with disabilities including ASDs
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
