Job description:
Starting Rate: $14.50/hr + 4% vacation pay
Shifts are evenings and/or Saturdays
Reporting to the Director, Program Evaluation/Research and Quality Assurance, Social Skills Workers facilitate skill building groups for children and adolescents with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Workers participate in screening sessions, conduct functional behavioural assessments and participate in implementation of programming based on an established curriculum.
Qualifications required:
As the ideal candidate for this role you are is energetic with a commitment to individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and can demonstrate a keen ability to work with children in group settings to facilitate skill development.
Requirements to be considered for this role:
•A university or college education in a related field (e.g. psychology, education, behavioural sciences) completed or working towards completion
•Minimum 12 months experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Experience with music, art or drama therapy is an asset for this position.
