Helping to Reduce Sensory Defensiveness in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder PDF Print
This workshop will enable participants to understand why some individuals over-react to sensory stimulation and how this can have an impact on behaviour.  Strategies to reduce “sensory defensiveness” will be provided and demonstrated.  This will include a review of the Wilbarger Protocol (brushing), the role of sensory diets and environmental adaptations.  This workshop is designed for parents and professionals.
