A Visual Learning Approach to Literacy and Spoken Language Skills PDF Print
This workshop will help individuals understand the reading and writing difficulties facing students with ASD. Specifically, the “Enactive Method” will be discussed and demonstrated. This method has been used with other student populations who benefit from a visual learning approach to enhance their understanding of written as well as spoken language. Students benefit from the structure, repetition and follow-up activities provided by this method. Practical application of this method will occur in small groups. Focus of this workshop will be for students in Grades 1-4.
