Presented by: Catherine Smith
Date: Thursday, October 23, 2008
Time: 1:30pm - 3:00pm
Session: Session 7

Outline of Presentation

Although the emphasis on transitioning into the world of work occurs during and after High School, in reality, the process begins much earlier. Catherine will address the importance of: establishing a positive work ethic; providing pre-vocational training; arranging on site work experiences; and developing meaningful career portfolios in order to help define and influence options for employment.  To help promote success, each person on the team must have a clear understanding of his or her roles and responsibilities in this process.  Catherine emphasizes when a team begins with the end in mind, it can help to insure that the steps required to meet that end are securely designed and implemented.
