Geneva Centre for Autism is delighted to have been chosen as a charity partner for the annual Lobster Night hosted by The Rotary Clubs of East York and Toronto Beach. This year’s event took place on May 23, 2008 at Whistler’s Grille on Broadview Avenue. Over 170 guests were treated to a fresh lobster dinner and live music and entertainment by The Gibbings Family Four and a Tribute to Elvis.
The event raised almost $10,000 for The Geneva Centre Campaign for Adults with Autism, an initiative to create Toronto’s only resource centre focused on adult autism services. The new facility will become a place for young adults with autism to call their own and will enable Geneva Centre to help young adults with autism manage social, work and life issues and interactions, find employment, get involved in community activities and pursue post-secondary education.

Following the event, Margaret Whelan, Executive Director of Geneva Centre for Autism, commented:
‘The evening was a fabulous success and a wonderful opportunity for Geneva Centre staff, clients and their families to participate in a fundraising event to support the Centre and its Foundation.
On behalf of everyone at Geneva Centre for Autism I would like to thank The Rotary Clubs of East York and Toronto Beach for choosing Geneva Centre for Autism as a beneficiary of the event. We look forward to working together in the future to raise vital funds for adults with autism.’
