Multi-talented Toronto Health Professionals Lend Their Support to Geneva Centre for Autism PDF Print

LifeBeat
Not only do they save lives, they also make sweet music! LifeBeat, a one-of-a-kind variety show staged by healthcare professionals, took place in June at the Premiere Dance Theatre, at Harbourfront, downtown Toronto. All proceeds from this year’s event go to support Geneva Centre for Autism and the Tal Doron Memorial Fund in support of paediatric brain tumour research at SickKids.

Celebrating its 25th year, LifeBeat is an annual musical variety show staged by a cast of multi-talented healthcare professionals from Toronto teaching and community hospitals and the University of Toronto. Audiences were treated to dynamic instrumental and vocal performances in classical music, jazz, rock and roll, rhythm and blues, pop and folk music.

The first night was kicked off by a spectacular gala reception where guests were served complementary wine and hors d’oeuvres and had the opportunity to bid in the silent auction.

Geneva Centre for Autism’s Executive Director, Margaret Whelan, commented:

‘Geneva Centre for Autism is delighted to have been chosen as a beneficiary of LifeBeat 2008. The event provides a fabulous few evenings of entertainment where vital funds are raised for children and adults with autism.’
