Welcome to Respite Bridges, through a variety of out-of-home programs, provides temporary relief to parents and guardians from the physical and emotional demands involved in caring for a family member with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Respite gives families time to rest, relax and rejuvenate. Along with providing families with relief, respite participants have the opportunity to develop social interaction and leisure skills within a group.

Geneva Centre for Autism is also a member of the Respite Cluster, a community-wide respite network, facilitated by respiteservices.com

Weekend Respite for Adults PDF Print

Weekend Respite for AdultsProgram Description
This program serves families who are caring for an Adult with ASD, 18 years of age and above, who live in Metro Toronto. Families receive two days of scheduled respite per month (on Saturdays or Sundays) from September to June. This very small program is designed to assist individuals who experience challenges participating in other recreational programs. Participants are given the opportunity to develop their social interaction skills and community safety skills in a recreational setting.

Time and Location
Bridges Weekend Respite for Adults runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Geneva Centre for Autism (112 Merton Street).

Fee
The cost to participate in the program is $15 per day.
