Temple Grandin, Ph.D.

Despite the challenges of living with autism, Temple Grandin obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in Animal Science. She is the designer of livestock handling facilities for cattle and pigs. Half the cattle in North America are handled in facilities she designed. Dr. Grandin is the author of Emergence Labeled Autistic and Thinking in Pictures. She has been featured on the TV show 20/20, CNN, Larry King Live, 48 Hours and CBS This Morning. Dr. Grandin was profiled by Dr. Oliver Sacks in The Anthropologist on Mars. Articles about Dr. Grandin have appeared in U.S. News and World Report and People Magazine.
