Ontario Autism Program: Geneva Centre for Autism CEO, Debbie Irish, responds to recent announcement

Today’s announcement from Minister of Children and Youth Services, Michael Coteau, introduced welcome changes to build on the largest financial investment Ontario has ever dedicated to support individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). New details outlined for the Autism Program reflect that the Ontario Government has been listening to families, seeking feedback from practitioners and advocates, and collaborating for the future.  At Geneva Centre for Autism, I have the privilege of working closely with individuals with ASD, parents and caregivers, professionals, and partner agencies. Over the past few months an entire community has continued to work hard towards better outcomes for individuals with ASD. For families, this is a lifelong endeavor and a dedication that is even more visible under pressure. I would personally like to acknowledge the Ontario Government for its responsiveness and commitment to action, and to every one of you who diligently support a strong, inclusive community.
